I bought this cheap router back in Dec '08, and it has not given me any problems with connection drop at all, strong steady signal throughout the day. Seems that I was one lucky buyer, but in fact I bought this with lots of fear that it would fail the same way almost 90% of other buyers have reported. Glad to say that I'm quite happy with it, but its time to move on and get a wireless-N router.
The title says it all. If all you're doing is surfing the internet, it's just annoying. If you're attempting to get some work done, it'll make you much less productive.
To make it worse - it also drops all WIRED connections when it fails. There has not been a period of more than 12 hours where I've had a reliable wireless signal. I've put up with this router for nearly 18 months. This has caused embarrassment more than once, since I work at home and often share my work with others in real-time. It drops CONSTANTLY. Online gaming is simply a no-go with this POS. I'm going to try a Linksys WBT54GL - it seems to be a winner. I'll try to report back after a month.
It's 1 AM and I'm researching a replacement for mine. My IT guy installed this so I can't say how easy it is. However, this piece of crap drops my connection frequently; on a bad day, about every 2 minutes. Get smart, and move on. Don't buy it.
Hey if you have this WBR-1310 router and are having trouble with your connection dropping (say every 10-20 minutes) check out this link as a solution to your problem. I've had no issues with connectivity since doing this and otherwise the router is doing everything it's supposed to.[.].Just one minor hiccup (fault really) that can be got around so you can have a cheap, reliable router.
